Part 5

Work the next day was pretty much as usual.  Marsha was too busy with her reponsibilities to think about yesterday's adventures.
Marsha, at last, was wrapping up her paperwork at her desk when she was approached by one of her co-workers, Krissy.  "Hey Marsha, I'm in a bit of a bind.  My car has been acting up and they told me today its the transmission and it will take a couple of weeks to fix.  You go by my house on the way to work, and I was wondering if I could ride with you?"
"Sure thing" said Marsha.....thinking all the while...well, my playing days are over for awhile....this changes everything!
"We have that meeting tonight, Marsha, at 7:00 - could I ride with you for that also.  "You bet"....get your stuff so we can have a few hours at home"..."its been a long day....and its not over yet!

Marsha pulled in to Krissy's driveway about 6:20 that evening.  "I'm a little early, maybe I can get a tour of her new house".  Marsha rang the bell and waited - "Come in" she heard from inside and entered.  "I'm running a little late, give yourself a tour, I'll be down in a minute".  Marsha took her up on the tour idea and thoroughly enjoyed the set up in Krissy's modern home - a far cry from her own Victorian style home.  Marsha was in the den where Krissy had her computer and books and papers from work.  It was a thoroughly modern set up with all the bells and whistles and one of those ergonomic chairs.  "I like that" thought Marsha, thinking of her laptop often used at the kitchen table.  Krissy came in and said "What do you think?"  "Its a beautiful house". said Marsha, "I really like this office set up", what's that on top of your monitor?....a camera?"  "Yes," said Krissy, "I do most of my communication with friends and family through video chat rather than email - its pretty neat".  "You have that Mac laptop, it has a built in camera, do you do video chats?"  "No", said Marsha, I guess I'm not really sure how to do it".  " Here, let me show you", said Krissy, "It will only take a minute".
Krissy showed Marsha how to download the software for Yahoo Messenger for the Mac.  My username is mskrissy3540 if you'd like to try out my account before you get set up.  In fact, get set up tonight and call me on Yahoo in the morning and I'll find out what you like in your coffee.  Its my treat while you're driving me back and forth.

When Marsha got home from the meeting she set up her computer with the Yahoo Messenger software as Krissy had shown her.  The next morning, she clicked on and saw that Krissy's username was highlighted, indicating that she was on line.  She double - clicked on her username and turned on her camera and invited Krissy.  Krissy appeared on her video screen and Marsha said, "I take my coffee with just cream" - you know this is pretty neat.  During the week, Krissy and Marsha chatted this way every morning and a few times in the evening to discuss work matters.  Even though she had worked with Krissy for two years and had always liked her, Krissy was becoming more of a friend as well.

On Thursday morning of the next week, Marsha was video chatting with Krissy in the morning when she remembered, "Oh Krissy, you will have to find another way in tomorrow morning, I have to go to a convention and stay overnight on Friday, I had nearly forgotten about it."  "No problem", said Krissy, "you'll have a good time, see you in a few minutes."
